The 48.69 cubic inch (798 ccm) twin engine is a four-stroke that puts out 85 horse power (62.0 kW) at 8000 rpm and 63.4 foot pounds (86.00 Nm) of torque at 5800 rpm. This liquid-cooled bike is fuel injected and has an electric starter. It is backed up by a six-speed transmission with a wet, multi-disc clutch. The belt drive moves the horse power from the transmission to the rear wheel.

The front suspension uses a 43mm telescopic fork and the rear uses a swingarm, making the BMW give the rider a smooth ride. The single disc brakes provide plenty of stopping power – the front rotor is 12.6 inches and the rear is 10.4 inches.

The BMW F800S weighs in at 401 pounds (dry) and has a seat height of 32.3 inches. If the seat is adjustable, this is the lowest setting. It holds 4.23 gallons – enough to go a distance before stopping to fill up again.
