The Harley Davidson Bad Boy Springer is a great looking around-town bike. It is geared for the rider who wants to ride to work, go bar-hopping or just generally ride hard and throw corners. It is basically a softail with a springer front end. The tight rake of the Springer front end gives this bike great handling. The combination of the dirt tracker bars and the stepped seat gives the rider a forward position, so it feels more like you are riding a Sportster rather than a Big Twin.

The Evolution 80 cubic inch v-twin engine is carbureted and is fed by 40mm constant velocity jets with an enricher and an accelerator pump. The five-speed constant mesh transmission gets the power to the rear wheel. A toothed belt, instead of a chain drives the rear wheel. The fuel tank holds only 4.2 gallons of gas, and that includes a .4 gallon reserve, but when you’re riding around town with plenty of gas stations, who cares?

The Harley Davidson Bad Boy Springer was the first bike to have floating disc brakes. They allow the disc to bend a bit, which keeps it from warping. It could have used more in the braking power division, though – it only has a single piston caliper, which has no problem stopping you, just don’t expect to make a panic stop.

There are some nice tricks on this bike. If you are out for looks, this would be a perfect bike with its black-out treatment. The girders are decorated with black powdercoat, but the springs, shocks and headlamp are chrome. The chrome engine and exhaust stand out against a black frame, oil tank and gas tank.
