The Harley Davidson Softail Deuce is a sexy bike with lots of chrome and clean details right from the factory. This cruiser, while not for long rides, is for the person who loves cruising the boulevard looking for attention – and perfect for showing off at the bike shows. It has a long, low profile, helped out by the 34 degree rake of the front forks. The seat is comfortable, but just a bit too narrow for touring. The forward controls put most of the weight on your butt. While the aggressive riding position looks great, it gets tiring after a long ride. If you want to tour, you may be better off changing the seat out.

The air-cooled 45-degree tandem v-twin engine is counter-balanced and is packed with 1450 cubic centimeters. It is decked out in chrome and black. It is one of the more powerful v-twin engines, running the quarter mile in 13.14 seconds at 97.2 miles per hour. This power is backed up by a five-speed transmission, helping it to the rear wheel with a belt drive.

The suspension is tuned for a plush ride, and the lack of damping allows the bike to bob around quite a bit on the heavier bumps. The fork sliders are chrome – the first Harley factory bike to chrome out the sliders. The rear suspension has two dampers with 4-inch travel. Both front and rear brakes have improved with double-action, four-piston calipers and 11 ½-inch discs.

The fuel tank on the Harley Davidson Deuce is seamless and holds 4.9 gallons. It is stretched out, just for the Deuce, and contributes to the long, low profile. It sports a speedometer and ignition switch which extends to the length of the tank. The new frame is more rigid than the Evo chassis, and helps keep the wheel pointed is the right direction.
