Bike Profile
The Harley-Davidson V-Rod is Harley’s version of the muscle bike. This bike is for the Harley rider who feels the need for speed. It features an LED stop light, turn signals and tail light, making the markers easier for others to see.
The liquid-cooled v-twin puts out 121 horsepower and 85 foot pounds of torque. It’s a double overhead cam set up with eight valves (four per cylinder). The Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) feeds this 60-degree v-twin, which is backed up by a five-speed transmission with a final belt drive. The clutch is a 9-plate wet clutch.
The front suspension uses 43mm inverted forks with a 4-inch travel. The rear suspension is preload adjustable with 2.9 inches of travel. The front brakes use Bremo four-piston calipers and double 11.8-inch discs. The rear brakes Bremo four-piston calipers and one 11.8-inch disc, so this bike has plenty of stopping power.
The Harley-Davidson V-Rod’s racy lines are helped by the integrated rear lights and thin fenders. The front LED turn signals are also blended – they are almost invisible in the mirror stalks. The hidden fuel tank holds 4.99 gallons – enough to take a long, curvy trip through the mountains.
If you are less than 5 feet, 10 inches, you might find this riding position a bit stretchy, so be sure to sit on this bike if you are much shorter than that. The placement of the exhaust on both sides of the bike also force a wide stance when putting your feet down – definitely a bike you should not ride without the proper riding gear.
