The Honda CL175 was a bike ahead of its time. It was a dirt bike before dirt biking became the popular sport that it is today. It liked to play in the mud when other more civilized bikes stayed clean on the pavement. The Honda CL175 helped to introduce a whole new breed of bikers.Red or green were the colors of choice with Honda CL175 owners, but no one seemed to mind the lack of color options once they hit the ground with these great bikes.
The CL175s were actually street bikes in disguise. A higher fender, exhaust mounted up high, and braced bars made it just seem to beg for the dirt—and riders took the hint. Born in the very late 60's it didn't take long for the 174cc engine and 5 speed transmission to warm the hearts of its riders by taking to the air with ease and popping wheelies on a whim. A dive into the dirt was a natural progression.
Its 4 stoke engine was full of power and it remains a vintage favorite of sentimental dirt bikers to this day. That's not to say it didn't have plenty of asphalt followers. On the road it is a dependable easy to maintain bike that gives plenty of thrills with great handle ability.
Advantages: Classic bike that is great for a sense of historical pride while giving a great ride and a lot of fun.
Disadvantages: Hard to find parts.
