The Honda CR85 is another great entry level bike for dirt riders. It jumps great and wheelies like a champ.Its 84.7cc engine gives it gentle speed that is easily controlled by younger and smaller riders. It’s a true motocross bike that will let everyone in the family get into the groove.
It has a 34 inch seat makes it comfortable for taller riders and can be a bit of a difficulty for shorter ones but the ability to handle this bike in any type of turn, jump, or twist makes it a joy.
No matter how old you are you can have fun on this machine but it excels as a youngster’s beginner bike.
It cleans up easy and takes little maintenance to keep it running in top form. Its 2 stroke engine is typical of that type and the top has less thrust than the bottom and mid ranges. It’s very fast and controllable as it is though and will give a rider a run for their money, which by the way is very reasonable for a good racer.
Never under estimate the sheer force the bottom and mid-range will kick at you. Beginning riders should go careful for their first few rides until they get the feel for it and learn to harness the thrust beneath them.
Advantages: Great beginners bike with enough power to give anyone the experience of handling a top class dirt bike.
Disadvantages: Advanced riders can have fun with this bike but will probably want to upgrade.
