In 1997 Honda decided the best just wasn't good enough and they put their act in overdrive to create an even better sport touring bike. The result was the Honda VFR800. Honda took their already wildly popular VRF750 and kicked up the engine to 1000cc and gave it a juicy new fuel injection system.

This bike made the cream at the top even creamier and Honda execs smiled all the way to the bank. Loyal Honda riders who craved both a sporty bike that was comfortable to ride over long distances got the best of everything with the VFR800.

While Honda had the market completely cornered in spite of competition trying to weasel into the heavy luxury cruisers, it has always had to compete hard for the sport and sport touring portion of the market. With the VFR800 it pushed itself ahead of the pack and into the lead. 74 massive pounds of torque make this bike a strong force not to be handled by anyone with a weak will. She'll give her rider anything they ask for with plenty to spare.

Advantages: Beautiful bike with lots of flairing and eye-catching aerodynamic design. Easy to care for. Plenty of power with superb comfort.

Disadvantages: Can be too powerful and replacing parts from an accidental dump can be very expensive. This is not a practice bike. It will deliver extreme power and its rider needs to be able to handle it.
