The KTM 640 Adventure is a dual sport adventure bike that will go over different terrain, but is especially good for deserted areas. It has low weight and long travel suspension with a versatile chassis, making this bike the bike to have for getting out of trouble. The riding position is perfect for a medium sized person.

The single cylinder 4-stroke engine has 625cc putting out 40 kW at 7000 rpm and the max torque is 55 Nm at 5500rpm. The engine is liquid cooled. A MIKUNI BST 40 carburetor feeds the engine. It is backed up with a five-speed transmission with dog clutch engagement. The clutch is a wet multi-disc, which is hydraulically operated. This bike has some impressive pull – perfect for doing wheelies for fun or to get over step-like bumps presented by rough terrain.

The front suspension uses WP USD 48mm forks and has 10.83 inches of travel. The rear uses the WP monoshock and has 11.81 inches of travel. The front brakes are double 11.81” discs and the rear uses a Brembo one-piston floating caliper on an 8.66-inch disc.

The KTM 640 Adventure’s frame is made from strong chromium-molybdenum and is powder coated, as is the subframe. It has 12.4 inches of ground clearance, putting the seat height at 37.2 inches. The bike holds quite a bit of fuel – 6.74 gallons – giving the rider plenty of distance before having to stop for gas.
