The KTM EXC 300 is a cross/moto cross bike for the serious off-road junkie. It has a lot of torque from the bottom and doesn’t seem to overheat easily. The frame is chromium molybdenum and has a rake of 27 degrees.The liquid-cooled two-stroke, single cylinder engine is 17.88 cubic inches. It uses a Keihin PWK 36 S AG carburetor to move the fuel from the 2.25-gallon tank to the cylinder. It is a two-stroke and uses a mixture of gas and oil for fuel. This is backed up by a five-speed transmission with a wet, multi-disc, hydraulic clutch. The assembly moves the horsepower to the rear wheel via a chain drive.
The front suspension uses the WP-USD 48mm telescopic fork. The rear suspension uses a WP-PDS shock, giving the rear 13.2 inches of travel. The front and rear brakes use a single disc – 8.5 inches (216mm) for the front disc and 10.2 (260mm) inches for the rear disc.
The KTM EXC 300 uses Kokusan digital 2K-3 ignition, and is a kick start. The bike weighs in at 226.6 pounds. It has a seat height of 36.4 inches. If the seat is adjustable, this is the lowest setting The ground clearance is 15.2 inches, giving the rider plenty of room for maneuvering over large obstacles in the track.
