The KTM SX 50 comes in two flavors – junior and senior. Though both bikes are classified as mini/cross bikes, they are by no means a toy, and can tear up a track just as well as the larger bikes.

The 49.80ccm engine is a two-stroke, single cylinder engine. It uses a mixture of gas and oil for fuel. A carburetor feeds the engine from a tank that holds .53 gallons of oil/fuel mix. The bike is liquid cooled. The power is moved through the transmission to the rear wheel via a chain drive.

The front suspension has 7.3 inches of travel, as does the rear suspension. The front brake rotor is 6.3 inches and the rear brake uses a drum brake.

The Junior has a 49.00 ccm engine and a centrifugal clutch. It holds slightly less fuel than the Senior Pro at .48 gallons instead of .53 gallons. The bike weighs almost what the Senior Pro weighs – it weighs in at 82.9 pounds. The seat height is 23 inches, and the ground clearance is 8.7 inches.
