The KTM SX 525 is a powerful cross/motocross bike designed for those who like to race across the desert with an unobstructed view of the checkered flag. When you ride this bike, you know there is no other like it in terms of power. The rider should either be tall, or used to climbing on a bike, as this bike does have some height to it.

The liquid-cooled single cylinder four-stroke engine uses a single overhead cam to cram air and fuel into the 31.14 (510.40 ccm) cubic inch hole. The fuel comes from the 1.85-gallon tank and through the Keihin MX FCR 41 carburetor. This is backed up by a four-speed transmission with a wet, multi-disc hydraulic clutch.

The front suspension uses WP-USD 48mm forks with 11.8 inches of travel and the rear uses a WP-PDS shock absorber with 13.2 inches of travel. While both front and rear brakes use a single disc, there is plenty of stopping power. The front uses a 10.2-inch disc and the rear uses an 8.7-inch disc.

The KTM SX 525 weighs in at 233.7 pounds (dry) and has a ground clearance of 15 inches. The seat height is a lofty 36.4 inches, and if you have an adjustable seat, this is the lowest setting. These features are packed into a central double-cradle-type 25 CrMo4 frame with a 26.5-degree rake. The exhaust does its part in keeping the pounds off this bike as it is fabricated from aluminum.
