Damn the torpedoes—full speed ahead. That might just be the inner-most motto of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX 10R. It is not a submarine, it doesn't have torpedoes, nor does it have a nuclear drive, it does however have a powerhouse of an engine surrounded by the sleekest framework in bikedom.

When you are looking for a speed bike 162 horsepower from a 998cc engine should be enough to make you drool, but if it's not imagine a bike that will hit 100 miles per hour, and redline at 13,000 rpm—in first gear. If that doesn't rock your socks you aren't looking for a speed bike you are looking for a rocket ship.

161.9 horsepower hits the ground running at 11,700 rpms. This bike has more blast than TNT. You might think that a bike that fast, that furious, that obsessed with speed would be unmanageable but you would be wrong. Kawasaki Ninja's are all well-known for their excellent handling ability and the Ninja ZX 10R is absolutely no exception to the rule.

There just aren't enough nice things to say about this bike. It is built for speed and does that without question. On the track or in a back road duel it will make you proud to be a biker. The Ninja ZX 10R puts the super in superbike.

Advantages: Blast off power that will trip your circuits before you even hit first gear. Excellent handling and smooth suspension. Great brakes which at that speed is a definite must.

Disadvantages: This is a bike that goes beyond not recommended for beginners. It may be a dream to ride and easy to control but requires skilled hands to employ such power.
