Bike Profile
The MV Agusta Brutale, MV Agusta’s first “naked” superbike makes its owner want to just take off and ride without any thought or consequence. Forget that its supposed to rain today – you won’t notice the clouds once you ride this bike for the first time. The bike has an aggressive feel to it, which is heightened by the flat one-piece handlebar. While it’s a superbike, at the same time, the riding position affords the rider an easy ride through town, too.The EV03 (Evolution version of the radial 16-valve engine in the F4) has reshaped combustion chambers, new valves, a stronger clutch hub and a lighter crank. It’s a liquid-cooled in-line four cylinder engine with double overhead cams and 16 valves that makes 127bhp at 12,500 rpm and has a maximum torque of 77N.m at 10,500 rpm. It’s all fed by Weber-Marelli fuel injection and backed up by a six-speed transmission.
The front suspension uses a 49mm Showa fork that doesn’t dive a bunch at a stop. It has 4.7-inch travel and is adjustable for preload, rebound damping and compression. Two six-piston Nissin calipers on 310mm discs provide stopping power for the front. The rear suspension uses one Sachs damper with 4.7 inches of travel. It is adjustable for preload, rebound damping and compression. The rear brakes provide additional stopping power with a four-piston caliper and a 210mm disc.
The MV Agusta Brutale is quite stylish from its headlight to its slash-cut exhaust. The frame is chrome-molybdenum steel tubes with cast aluminum at the pivot for the aluminum single swing arm. The seat height is up there, though, at 31.9 inches. The fuel tank holds five gallons.
