The BMW R1100RT is a powerful touring and sport motorcycle with strong performance. It is geared for the rider who likes to tour – and the rider who like sport riding. It comes with plenty of storage for those long cross-country tours.

The air-cooled two-cylinder engine delivers a solid 90 hp at 7,250 rpm, backed with 68.7 foot pounds of torque at 5,500 rpm. The standard boxer-type engine makes this bike ultra-reliable for long tours. This engine seems to go on forever without even breathing hard.

The R1100RT has ABS brakes, giving the rider more safety in bad weather or panic situations. The front brakes clamp down on dual disc, 305mm rotors and the rear add to the already great stopping power by clamping down on a single 276mm disc.

This touring-sport bike comes with BMW’s telelever front suspension and paralever rear suspension. This telelever front suspension allows you to brake as hard as you want or need to without experiencing diving on the front of the bike (front fork dive).

The bike is nicely balanced and allows the rider to hit curves with scraping footpegs without feeling like the bike is going to fall out from under you. The smile will definitely still be on your face when you come off the mountain!

The BMW R1100RT has some nice amenities including an electrically adjustable windshield, which adjusts with a push of the left thumb, a large 6.8 gallon fuel tank, allowing the rider to go quite far before having to be bothered to fuel up.
