The Suzuki DRZ-400S is a magnificent dual purpose bike. In fact ‘Cycle Magazine’ called the Suzuki DRZ-400S the ‘best dual purpose bike’ for good reason. Although in many states it is a ‘red sticker’ bike meaning it is not street legal it was made to be about 75% off road, and 25% street bike. Some states will require adjustments to be made but most of them are easy enough to accomplish to make this bike street legal. What the DRZ-400S really excels at is off road fun. It digs in and plays dirty. It is fast and nimble making all sorts of rugged areas its natural playground.

It has a 4-stroke, single cylinder 398cc engine that provides plenty of power and acceleration. It gives up 32.7 horsepower at 2,900 rpm and 25.91 pounds of torque at 6,150. There’s plenty of power to get through any conditions and pile on plenty of speed. An electric starter makes it easy to jump on and play. A 2.6 gallon (10 liter) fuel tank provides plenty of time between pit stops. Even more it looks every inch the dirt demon it is. Aggressive seating, aerodynamic, lightweight body style, and rugged frame give this bike a truly forceful appearance.

Advantages: Excellent off road competitor that will pull through all types of conditions.

Disadvantages: A little bit of slack in the chain can make it rough shifting. 935mm seat height is a little high for very young riders, but this is a bit too aggressive for inexperienced handling capabilities anyway.
