The Suzuki Hayabusa is one of the GSX family of super sport bikes and is often known as the GSX 1300R in some countries. This big boy powerhouse offers more thrills than a shuttle blastoff and almost as much power. With its inline 1300cc 4 inline engine it was considered to be the fastest production bike made before 2001. The name Hayabusa comes from the Japanese word for Peregrine Falcon. It looks like the lovely, stealthy, predator it was named for as well. A sort of twist on coincidence the Falcon is the main predator of the Blackbird, a reference to the Blackhawk one of Suzuki's main rivals for sport bike supremacy.The abilities of this bike leave little doubt as to its power. It is capable of a quarter mile in 10.02 seconds by ramping up 143.7 horsepower. It hits 60-80 miles per hour in 3.13 seconds. It feels like you are about to break the sound barrier and accelerates to a further 80-100 mph in just another 3.13 seconds. This means that in less than 10 seconds flat you could be hurtling down the highway at 100 mph or better. The top speed of the Suzuki Hayabusa is calculated at 189.6 miles per hour (305 km/h). It is truly a speed lover's delight and that isn't the best of it. Like it's GSX brethren it is smooth as butter and glides down any stretch of open road.
