The Yamaha TT125 is an excellent entry level off-road motocross bike for young riders. It has enough power to give them a taste of the fun of a great dirt sport bike without being dangerous and uncontrollable in a new rider's hands. The 123.7cc air cooled engine is powerful enough for new riders from the youngest to pre-teens and teens to get a good experience from. It produces 9.8 horsepower (7.2 kW) at 8,000 rpm. It twists up 9.85 pounds (1.0 kgf-m) of torque at 6,500 rpm which is plenty to excite a young rider without jumping out from under them.

With a 31.7 inch (805 mm) seat height and a weight of 172 pounds (78 kg) the Yamaha TT125 is a taller bike than some beginner bikes that can be a little bit difficult for very young riders to deal with but allows pre-teen and young teens to be able get the experience they need to graduate to more powerful and competitive bikes.

The suspension on the Yamaha TT125 is only adequate for very beginning riders and is too spongy in the rear for higher levels of competition and rough road riding. It has the most power in 2nd and 3rd gears which is where you want it for beginning riders and less top end power where the bike might throw them.

The Yamaha TT125 is an extremely safe and sane off-road bike for young riders.
