The 249cc, 5-valve, DOHC 4-stroke Yamaha WR 250F is an awesome dirt bike for any purpose. Its titanium valves make the engine as lightweight as the bike for super handling in rough and heavy conditions as well as making for great aerial maneuvers. It has the best low and mid-range power possible that is excellent for endurance riders. An electric starter makes it super easy to get on the move but it also has a back up kick start just in case. You won't have to worry about not being able to have fun fast. And fast it is too—any surface and any brush, nothing is too challenging for this bike.Everything from the camshafts on down has been worked into this bike with enduro riding in mind. It can handle any kind of dirt riding but cross country is what it was born to do. It is a very long 85.2 inches for maximum stability and control and its huge 38.6 inch seat height keeps you up above everything and provides huge ground clearance. Floating disc front and 245mm disc rear brakes provide excellent stopping power in wet sloppy mud, or dry dusty dirt. The Yamaha WR 250F really knows how to get down and dirty. It is a dirt lover's dream bike.
Advantages: Excellent stability and control. Great long distance speed over dirt. Lightweight and aerodynamic. Great bike for any skill rider.
Disadvantages: Too big for very young, small riders. Lots of power that can get away from an amateur if they are not careful.
